One day more!

This weeks has been crazy busy and I haven't had that much time to post on my blog. We are heading for Utah and so that creates a little extra stuff to do but I've also been busy with a few different doctor appointments that weren't in the plan. Why does it always seem that things always happen at once? How about I explain?

I have had heart palpitations for the last 4-5 years. I had it checked out once and the doctor said they were harmless and opted not to put me on medicine. Well, this last month or so they have become increasingly more noticealbe and frequent. Last Thursday night was the very worst. My heart was "skipping" beats all night long. It made it so I couldn't even sleep at 2:00am Jarom woke up and I started to cry to him. (Thanks Jarom for missing sleep to comfort me). They don't really hurt but when they do that I can't sleep. I've also had a really difficult time sleeping this last month. I've always had a harder time sleeping but this was much worse than normal. On Friday morning I decided that I had had enough and called my doctor. I went to the doctor on Friday afternoon. They did the normal routine stuff. They did an EKG and drew my blood. On Monday morning I received a phone call from my doctor telling me that she thinks that she had found the reason for my heart palpitations. My thyroid was out of wack. They got my blood work back and it was elevated. So, I was started on medicine to help get that under control (Although it can take up to two weeks before I feel any different). My doctor also asked me to do what is called a holter monitor for 48 hours to see what my heart is really doing.

Well, yesterday morning I had a dental appointment (I had to get a crown for on old filling on my tooth. Not fun! 538.00 later I have a new tooth). Then in the afternoon I went in and got this holter monitor put on me for the next 48 hours to record every beat that my heart makes. There are five probes placed on different areas of my chest. It's pretty interesting since I can't shower for the next 48 hours. This morning I gave my self a sponge bath and washed my hair under the bath tub faucet. I'm glad I don't have to do that all the time.

Needless to say...this last week has been busy. Jarom has also been driving up to Ft. Collins (1 1/2 hour drive) to train for a couple of days for his job that he starts in August after the bar. We have had very early mornings. We leave tomorrow afternoon for Utah. I'm so excited! We are both ready for a little rest and relaxation and to spend time with family. Ready or not Utah...Here we come!
