A few crappy weeks indeed...

These last few weeks have not the best for the Bergeson family. It is one of those times in life when I am so glad that we don't have to relive days. On Friday, July 23, I went into Allie's room to get her out of bed and she had thrown up all over in her crib. Jarom was gone for the weekend to St. George for some golfing. I was going to go camping with my family. Well, needless to say I ended up not going. By 9:00pm on Friday night poor Allie had already thrown up a total of 10 times. She was one sick little girl.

On Saturday morning I was hoping that things would be better. Nope. Allie was still sick. All she wanted was to sit on my lap and have me hold her.

Sunday at 5:30am, I woke to a crying baby who had once again thrown up all over in her crib. By then I was wondering if this was ever going to stop! Then she started with diarrhea. She just didn't seem to be getting better. That evening about 5:00pm Jarom walked in the door from his weekend. Soon after he walked in the door I started to feel sick. By 7:30 Sunday night I was throwing up and had diarrhea. Good times huh? Luckily Jarom had gotten home and he was able to care for Allie because I was unable to care for her.

Monday came around and neither Allie or I were still feeling great. We both took long naps and just laid around all day. Allie still had diarrhea.

Tuesday Allie was still sick and I decided to take her to the doctor (it was my birthday too!). The doctor thought the whole thing was viral and told me to just watch her for another couple of days and if she wasn't better by Thursday to bring her back in. During the day Allie seemed like she was getting better. Tuesday evening we sat down to open my birthday presents and after I opened the 1st one Allie threw up all over again. Happy Birthday to me huh?

As a side note...I have to say that I think this years birthday was probably the worst birthday that I have ever had. My family was going to have a birthday dinner for me on Monday night but I was too sick to eat it so we postponed it for another time, Allie was sick and throwing up, and the place we went for lunch, The Indian Oven, was not that good. The only part that was enjoyable about my birthday was that Jarom and I went to a movie. We saw Knight and Day. It was actually pretty good and it was so fun to just spend time with Jarom and I. We had not been to a movie since January of 2009. That night after we got home Jarom started to feel sick. He laid around all day on Wednesday feeling yucky. Good times huh?

So, to make a long story short, Allie continued to throw up on Wednesday and Thursday and by Friday morning I was one tired mom and Allie was one sick baby. I took her to the doctor for the third time and he decided that she was going to have to be admitted to the hospital. She was pretty dehydrated and needed to get some fluids in her to see if that would help her feel better. She was also plugged up and couldn't go poop and they thought they she may have some obstruction and was going to need to get an x-ray to see what the problem was.

The hospital was a pretty traumatic experience for Allie (and for Jarom and I). We ended up staying there until Sunday at 12:30pm. The IV's did their job and things with Allie started to work again. She was much better and was eating and drinking and acting more like her normal self. I am so thankful for modern medicine that was able to help Allie and for a wonderful husband and father that were able to give Allie a couple of priesthood blessings.

Today Allie is healthy and back to her normal self. Although, she is now cutting three teeth and that makes for one really happy baby too!

Allie and Mom sitting in the hospital bed. She is eating frozen yogurt. She loved it!

This is Allie in the hosptial crib. It looked more like a prison cell. She didn't spend much time in it needless to say.

Here is Allie being a big girl and sitting in the hosptial bed all by herself. Notice the IV in her left arm. She was a trooper through the whole thing.
Here we are on Sunday morning waiting for the doctor to come and discharge us from the hosptial. She had a good time playing in the water in the sink.

Jarom being sick on the floor and Allie laying right next to him not feeling well either.
Happy Birthday to me! This was probably the worst birthday I have ever had. I was sick throwing up a the day before and a few minutes after this picture was taken Allie threw-up everything too. Crappy birthday to me!

Allie helping me open my birthday presents!

Allie swimming in the big metal tub outside. She loved it!
Playing in the hose.

Allie loves her swing! Here she is taking a little rest in it.

This is her favorite place to be when we are outside.

Allie has learned to fold her arms when we say a prayer. It is so cute! Doesn't she look like Jarom in this photo? Here she is folding her arms like Gradma Connie.
