So, I finally feel like I am able to sit down and blog a little bit about the birth of little Allie Sue. It all started on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Jarom had a friend that was getting married up in the mountains and we had planned on attending it. The wedding started at 2:00pm and then the dinner and reception afterwards. The drive to Veil was about 1:45 minutes. No that far from Denver.
All day on Saturday I felt a little different than I had on other days but never being pregnant before I thought it was all a part of just being pregnant. Looking back I realize that I was probably in the beginning stages of labor. While at the wedding I went into the restroom and realized then that I had lost my mucous plug (sorry if that is to much detail for some of you). I knew that it was nothing to be alarmed about because losing the mucous plug doesn't mean that I was going to go into labor right then but that it was very close. Women lose their mucous plug hours or days before giving birth. About that same time I started to feel contractions. I began timing them and soon began to realize that there was a pattern to them. We decided that we probably should get going not knowing if I was really in labor or not. The whole drive home I was having contractions. They weren't too painful but they were very regular. We got home and I decided that perhaps I should pack my bag just in case I was really in labor. After about 21/2 hours of experiencing contractions we called the doctor. She told us that we could go to the hospital. So at 10:00pm on Saturday night we were driving to the hospital to have a baby.
Well, to make a long story short...26 1/2 hours later (yes you read it right. I was in labor for over a day!) at 9:21pm on Sunday, May 31, 2009 we were blessed with a beautiful little girl. She has been such a joy in our life and a great little baby. We kind of like her and we think we will keep her.
Here are some new pictures of here. She changes everyday is is growing so quickly.
