Well, Denver had one of their famous spring storms yesterday. It made it for a really long drive and a fun adventure. Jarom started for work yesterday morning and made it about 10 miles in 45 minutes and decided it wasn't worth the 55 mile drive to Ft. Collins. He turned around and came home. The court house ended up closing at 11:00am yesterday so I was very happy that Jarom had not made the long and dangerous drive to work. I on the other hand have a much shorter commute (15 miles) to my place of employment. I jumped in my car and made it in about 40 minutes. Not much longer than my normal commute. All morning, while at work, I watched the snow fall and the wind blow. I sat in a couple of meetings wishing they would just let us go home. About 1:00pm we got and email from the disaster team here at National Jewish and they had decided to have everyone go home and close the hospital for the afternoon. Yeah! I was so happy. A snow day! I quickly gathered my stuff and was out the door. The drive home was very long and slow. The roads were very icy. It was like an ice skating rink. I probably could have skated home faster than the drive. About two hours later I was home in my warm little apartment. Yes...it took me two hours to drive the 15 miles back home. I was very happy to get out of the car. The snow lasted all night and into the wee hours this morning. Most places were opened back up this morning for business but the roads were not much better getting into work this morning. Luckily the snow storm has passed and now we will spend the next few days digging out. Here are a few picture from our adventure. We ended up getting about a foot of snow and some places got more than that.
